PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL EXAMINATIONS

Examinations of the peripheral arteries

Including Pulse Volume Recording and Segmental Pressures, employ ultrasound and blood pressure cuffs to evaluate the arteries that provide blood to the arms and/or legs.

The tests are used to locate blockages within the arteries. Such exams are helpful in evaluating patients with a range of conditions, including (but not limited to): claudication, gangrene, a variety of podiatric pains and procedures, Raynaud’s disease, ischemic rest pain or ulcers, peripheral neuropathy, and embolic disease of the lower or upper extremity.
